Getting Ready...

Kendra is getting ready to head out for almost a week. She is leaving Monday morning. She is heading to Minneapolis with her church group for 'Urban Immersion'. It is a week of doing service projects with gaining an insight with those that live in poverty. I believe they are staying at a refuge (sp?) center in tents. Should be interesting. :) They also have some fun planned which includes heading to Valley Fair, Mall of America and attending Higher Ground which is an outdoor Christian music festival. She is very excited to go!!
It reminds me of when I went to Guatemala to help with the children and families with the God's Child Project. I am hoping that this will be a wonderful experience for her, one she will always remember. Say a little prayer that they all stay safe and also have a great time.
Will keep you updated or let you know after she returns what it was like. :)

Big Boy!

Sorry, I haven't updated for a while. I'm on my night shift rotation right now which completely throws me for a loop. Plus I've been picking up tons of overtime too. I picked up a shift tonight on another floor, but am not needed at the moment, so am on call. I took Kristian to well baby today and he now weighs 15 lbs 12 oz and 26 inches long! What a big boy!!
He seems to favor his head to the right so his dr had us see therapy re: his head. The right side is fairly flat, rates a 3 on a scale of 1 to 5. 5 is the worst. We are trying to position him on his left as much as possible and doing stretching exercises to help work those muscles. We go back in 4 weeks to see if any improvement was made. No improvement from the last 4 wks. :( May have to resort to one of those helmets in a few months, but hopefully not.
I think I am ready for school to start. Bad mommy, I know. But I miss the routine. :)
Have to share a couple funny stories about Kaden. The other night we were outside and Kaden was squatting in the grass and looked like her was trying to pick up something. Mark thought he was going for dog poop so he was yelling no. Turns out Kaden was just feeling the grass across his hands. So after Mark yelled for him to stop, he got up, walked a few feet, squatted down, waved his hands over the grass (which is the exact same thing he was just doing) and turns to Mark and gives him the biggest grin like "look dad, even though you told me no, i'm still doing it haha". The look on Kaden's face was just priceless as he was smirking to Mark.
Today Kaden was supposed to be laying down for a nap. For some reason, he doesn't want to do naps anymore. Laid him down, waited a while, checked on him and found him in his crib with no pants and no diaper. I got him fully clothed and told him it was nap time. Same thing, laid him down and found him pant/diaperless again. Redressed him and laid him down. I checked on him, found him pant/diaperless ONCE AGAIN!!! So, I figured I am fighting a losing battle, so dressed him and let him go play. Each time he took off his diaper, it was a little wet, so maybe this is a good sign as far as getting more serious with potty training. Not so funny though when I want him to nap and he strips instead. :) HeHe!
